Also, people can nitpick at stats from a game or a quarter or a drive, and twist it anyway they want. But the eyes don't lie.

Unlike Ohio State's schedule, each and every one of these opponents put a quality product on the field.
Wow, this guy is nuts! "Each and every one of these opponents put a quality product on the field." LOL.

He loses all credibility right there. After all, "each and every one" includes UCF, Western Carolina, Vandy, Ala, and Florida State.

So the guy is off somewhat--
Back to the other---Maybe so Apples and Wayne- Ohio State has looked awesome- there were times that Fla look anything but awesome- but come the day these two teams meet- the emotions to prove their worth will be as exciting as it gets.
Gators realize the power of the Buckeyes and feel like we are not getting noticed to be in this game with you. That can turn against you after a turnover or special team- well lets just make that turnovers that may create the doubt in you. Our freshmen have come alive and we will be at near full strength for the first time in a long time.

I certainly hope turnovers make a difference, that could make this one ugly if Leak plays like his normal self. I'll take Troy's 5 INTs in 12 games. Just as long as there are no more funky snaps, haha.

Leak is small and interceptions have been an issue- but we have recovered.

But you've recovered against teams with below average offenses. Great defenses, but below average offenses. Georgia can't move the ball (except against Auburn somehow), Cox from Auburn sucks, Spurrier changed his mind on his QB as many times as he changed his underwear. FSU got shut out at home by WF and had QB issues all year. So Miss, UCF, and West Car speak for themselves. KY has a good offense, not much on the defensive side giving up the 40 to Lou-Monroe or some Lou team. Alabama had trouble breaking into double digits all year. LSU and Tenn have very good offenses. Vandy passed well, and Ark ran, but both one dimensional.

Don't get me wrong, I think Florida is a great team, and actually a team I like going back to the Ole Ball Coach's days. But they haven't faced a team of this caliber this season. Part of the time I wonder if the SEC D's are really that good or if their numbers are that great b/c many of the offenses suck.

I am from Lincoln, Neb and was at the Fiesta Bowl when Nebraska beat Florida's brains out. That was truly one of the best games I attended. Florida and its fans thought their speed would kill Neb, but they were wrong because they were outclassed at every position. I am not saying OSU is going to hang a half a hundred of more like Neb did, but this game could get ugly

Yes, some random guy's writing definitely end the debate. May as well lock this thread now, it's official!

I am wondering though. Why do so many SEC people all stick up for their conference as much as their team? It makes no sense to me that bitter rivals end up rooting for each other. It would be a cold day in hell for me to root for Michigan to win any National Championship, Big 10 be damned.

well first of all i can't really say florida is a bitter rival w/ us, we have dominated them in the last several years but that dont make us a rival. it makes our conference look well when we got a good team like florida going to the nat'l championship to represent every team in the SEC.

and by the way your damn right it should end the debate, how could you not be persuaded on some of the things he wrote about?

OK Apples- Love the get up for the game more than a month away- But really how can we get a true picture of what Ohio State or Fla's value is if we don't look at the teams they have played. The point is made that Fla has played a more difficult schedule and that is backed by NCAA. However, maybe we should have Boise State in there instead. It really matters not by the points you win by but rather can you defeat a slew of teams that are coveting top 25 spots.

Nice work Au Eagle- Auburn is a fine team and my Dad's alma mater.

But all over the place you see Tenn, Ala, Aub, etc fans saying Florida is great just b/c they play in the SEC. They play a in a tougher conference than most, but that doesn't make them great. True greatness happens when you stop judging yourself against others. That is why Florida is a great team.

For your question, check out post #17 in this thread. Anyone can obviously trump up certain things to fall their way. For instance, I could say if you take away the cupcake non-conf games of Western Carolina and UCF, Florida's rushing average drops over 15 yds a game b/c of the 204 and 282 yds they put up on them. But doing stuff like that makes no sense.

Anyone could grasp at a few straws on either side of the debate. Him saying KY caould give the top 5 of the big 10 a run is just ludicris. KY isn't a 10-11 point dog against Clemson for no reason. That's like saying Iowa could do the same in the SEC, just absurd.

Hmm, yes and no. I don't know if Florida's tougher schedule is "backed by the NCAA", they don't officially pout that number out, different computer rankings do. You are right, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if you won by 1 or 41 in terms of a win or loss. However, if you were to try to make a judgement of teams, you take that into account. For instance, if you are going to handicap a basketball game for a bet, and Team A beat Team B by 1, but Team C beat Team B by 25, that will/should definitely fall into your handicapping thinking.

Props to Florida for their tough non-conference schedule-LOL

Another question for the SEC lovers: Does anyone play offense in that conference?

Florida is a good team, but OSU is a great team.OSU by at least 2 touchdowns!
