  • Learning to handicap sports

I want to thank all the handicappers at this site. I have made a good profit this year just following your picks. This may be a stupid question, but how can I begin capping my own games?

What methods do most of you use to pick winners?

I'll keep that in mind, ha. I usually just follow linemover and brewers7, but I wouldn't mind putting some time into making my own picks. Don't really know where to start though

For football consider WIND and other conditions In hoops weather or not they played last nite ( injuries) ect.Dont forget lines makers are on top of that shit. All they want to do is have the loser bets pay the winners and they collect the juice money Botton line your bets are baised on how human beings perform no one can predict what going to happen. Therefore its really an educated guess or gut feeling on who will cover the spread some cappers have it some dont My 12-18 Posted NBA plays show I'm struggling. I hope I answered any questions ( just my opinion)

From a guy that I think many respect your handicapping ability that's the best you can come up with? How about what stats are important in which sports? What trends are helpful? Where to find these trends? How much does the weather play into capping? I think he is looking for things to that nature.

depends on what sport. Im big into betting the wrong side of a game. what i mean by that, i like being against the public as much as i can. I'm not a big trend player, but thats just me, i know many are. I also look at matchups and common opponents when capping a game. also like to see travel. ie teams going across country and things of that nature or short rest. weather imo is a crap shoot and more times than not i just pass on playing games that weather is a big factor.
