I don't think the computer ranking uses money as a factor.
It all comes down to what the people that run the BCS rankings think it a better match up. Also, like Mel Kipper said the other day, every game is a playoff game and when Ohio St beat Michigan, bring on the next best team for Ohio St to play.
Who's to say that if USC wins by 3 or less and Florida beats Arkansas by 21 or more, the BCS people might move Florida ahead of USC. I don't think either will happen, but who really knows what the BCS is thinking.
Until there is a playoff system someday, every one will have different views on who's the second best team, and that's a fact.

In my opinion, it all comes down to when someone loses thier 1st game if teams end up with only 1 loss on the season. If Michigan would of lost at Ohio St at the beginning of the year, they would probably still be the #2 team in the nation. I wouldn't be disappointed to see a USC/Ohio St matchup. I think if USC played Michigan on a neutral field, Michigan wins. If USC takes care of business and beats UCLA, they deserve to go to the BCS Championship game. Until they get a playoff system in NCAA Football, there will always be questions raised on this.
            Posted record as of 03/12/08:

            NBA 35-33 -.22 units
            NCAA Basketball 12-14-1 -3.08 units

Thanks Chado....You all make valid points, but USC still has to get through UCLA. Personally, I don't want to watch Mich play Ohio St again, I'm sure that had to go through the minds of the poll voters.....

anybody who actually watched the mich/ohio st game would know the game wasn't that close. if michigan doesn't put up a garbage td with a couple minutes left, nobody is talking about this.

ohio st was ahead comfortably the entire game. michigan never had the lead after 7-0, and the game was never tied after 7-7.

I'm so sick of hearing this michigan BS. I'll say it again: If Michigan doesn't score a TD in garbage time (aided by a cheap PI call on 4th down), nobody is talking about a rematch!!

if michigan loses by 11 this argument doesn't exist!

A garbage TD aided by a questionable call on 4th and forever.

Michigan Would Have Gotten The Ball Back With Ample Time To Score If It Wasnt For A Questionable Call That Really Decided The Game On 4th Down

This argument is honestly one of the worst and dumbest i have seen. You can look at a ton of games played by several schools and say the same thing. Oregon St DOMINATED USC too ... Did they not? Give me a break, USC scored late several times to make it close too.

It's not like Ohio St wanted them to score. The fact remains that Michigan needed a TD and an onside kick to have a chance and THE Fucken Ohio St COULD NOT stop them. Michigan failed with the onside and it was game. I can't believe i even have to debate your quote because your argument is really senseless when you actually think about it.
