                Dunkel Index – NHL

                MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20

                Colorado at Dallas
Dallas has hit a little bit of a rough patch recently as the Stars have dropped four of their last six, including a 3-0 shutout at home against the Islanders last Wednesday. The Avs snapped a four-game losing streak with a pair of road wins at Columbus and Minnesota. Peter Budaj started both those games in place of Jose Theodore and gave up only one goal while recording 53 saves. Colorado looks to have a good shot at pulling the upset in this one according to Dunkel, which has the Avalanche favored straight up by 1/2 a goal. Dunkel Pick: Colorado (+1 1/2). Here are all of today's games.

                      Monday's List of 13:
                      Wrapping up an NFL Sunday.........

                      13) Jim Mora Sr called Michael Vick "a coach killer" this week, which is not good on several fronts, biggest one being that Jim Mora Jr is currently Vick's coach.

                      12) LaDanian Tomlinson is amazingly good; Falcons could have had him and Drew Brees instead of Vick, had Draft Day trade not been made. Whoops.

                      11) Brees passed for 509 yards Sunday, but he threw pair of INTs in end zone which crippled Saints Sunday; all they did in first half was move up, down field, but had ten points. Bengals' pass defense is very bad.

                      10) Buffalo's Lee Evans had 205 receiving yards and two TDs by 1:45 Sunday. Well, at least the Texans didn't pass up their franchise QB in draft to draft a pass rusher. Oh wait.......

                      9) Phil Simms has good idea on roughing the passer calls; break them down into 5 and 15-yard penalties. Some of these 15-yard penalties wouldn't get the guy down in touch games.

                      8) Look at Eagles' schedule rest of way, and things could get ugly in Philly, with McNabb out for season.

                      7) Before Manning hit Harrison on long pass play with 4:30 to go in Dallas Sunday, Colts had gone 155 snaps without play that gained 20+ yards. Not good.

                      6) Tony Dungy needs better advice on replay challenges; he blew chance to overturn Dallas TD on INT in third quarter when he didn't challenge the runner being down by contact. Huge mistake, and it cost them bigtime.

                      5) Possible reason he didn't challenge is that it would have been his last challenge of game, only 5:00 into second half.

                      4) Saints gained 595 yards Sunday and lost; Rams, Packers and Atlanta combined to gain 417 yards this week.

                      3) Minnesota trailed 24-13 with 0:30 left, and had ball deep in Miami territory; they need two scores to tie, but instead of kicking FG to give themselves at least a chance, they used up all the remaining time to score a meaningless TD. These guys earn seven figure salaries, and they don't know that?

                      2) Favorites were 8-6-1, Sunday, home sides were 6-8-1, and under was 9-6. AFC teams won five of seven vs the NFC, to continue recent dominance in inter-conference games.

                      1) I could see Michael Vick as a Raider in 2007; Falcons have solid backup QB in Schaub, and they could reap pretty good haul of draft picks. Just a thought.
