I couldn't disagree more. OSU was very impressive, I don't think they could have played much better. Mich goes into their house and their defense doesn't even show up and lose by 3.
Not to take anything away from the Buckeyes but Mich had too many mental errors, the penalties and 3rd down conversions killed them. If anything I have way more respect for them showing heart in the second half being down 14. Do you not remember they had a chance to tie the game in the 4th but got stuffed and settled for the field goal.

This could go back and forth all day but to say they are the 6th best team in the country in terrible. I like your insight most of the time but just think that was the wrong thing to say.
I think I kind of fall in between you and him. As I said early, I was impressed with Michigan, but a lot of them staying in the game had to do with the two bad snaps. One deep inside OSU territory and one deep inside Mich territory. That's not the type of TO where the defense forces, just a freak play.

I was shaking in my boots the whole 2nd half at the Shoe, but that was primarily from all the memories that come from being a Browns fan in the 80s, Indians fan in the 90s, and OSU fan in the 90s.

I think Michigas played about 9/10 in term of playing to their ability and Ohio State a 7/10.

Mich defense had an off game and they had too many mental errors as a whole. I definitely think Michigan played well enough to deserve a rematch. I don't see how anyone could think that Michigan isn't the second best team in the country, they would destroy teams like Florida and Arkansas if they played. USC lost to a terrible team and Michigan lost to the best team in the country on the road and beat ND and Wisc(2 one loss teams). Mich shouldn't be penalized for losing later in the season than other teams. Ohio St. was the better team yesterday but if they rematch in AZ I definitely think Mich can win.

No team that lost to Oregon St should play for the title

Sure Michigan got throttled but that was in Ohio St.........besides a flukish run in the 2H Michigan dominated that whole half of play whether anyone likes it or not as the Ohio St spread that was bread and butter was gettin stuffed.

If not for that late hit Ohio St would have settled for a FG attempt and last time I checked in college thats no sure thing......Michigan could have easily drove down the field in the Shoe and ended your season like we have so many times in the past.

Shoulda coulda woulda I know but dont gimme some shpiel about how the game was not close........Why would anyone give Ohio St a rematch if they lost at home to the #2 team? Because they started the season at #1? Thats BS......these are the 2 best teams in the country so lets settle it once and for all on a neutral field.

Its nobodies fault the best two teams in the country are both in the BIG10.........just remember USC lost to Oregon St.........that is the eqivalent of Michigan losing to Minnesota......if that happens do you think anyone can play for the title if they lost to Minnesota or a Georgia or a Kansas St or a Florida St (this year)........no way we should let USC off the hook for a crap loss like that.......honestly I would rather see a team like West Virginia or Florida play for the title because they lost to respected teams on the road.

                      PEACE

the one scenario people havent talked about is that if there is a rematch and mich wins, both teams have the same record, and are 1-1 vs eachother. if that happens, i still don't think there is a clear-cut champ.

What is funny about this standing is.

                          Rutgers beat Louisville
                          Louisville beat West Virginia

But West Virginia is higher than Louisville and Louisville is higher Rutgers

                          What gives?

There won't be a rematch. If either FLA or USC wins out right, one of them will play.

Now that Rutgers has lost, this whole thing is clearing up.

If USC beats both Notre Dame and UCLA (I bet they lose one), they'll play Ohio State.

If USC loses one of the two and Florida beats Arkansas, I predict Florida will jump up in the polls and play Ohio State.

If Arkansas beats Florida, Arkansas will not go to the title game.

If Notre Dame beats USC, they won't go either because the rankings (both BCS and polls) will knock them out because of their decisive loss to Michigan.

My bottom line prediction: Michigan gets the game only if both Florida and USC lose a game.

Michigan may be the best team but it really is hard to justify any system that would put two teams from the same conference in a title game when the loser already had one chance to beat the other team. On the other hand, it would be a joke to put Notre Dame or Arkansas ahead of Michigan so the Wolverines could still back in.
