Schilling is 55 years old, DM has never pitched a game in MLB, Papelbon has never done or proven ANYTHING as a starter, Beckett led the majors in HR's allowed and refused to throw anything else but a fastball ... and Wakefield is about as old a Schilling and i'm sick of him!

5 Question marks if you ask me Doc, plus still no closer or middle relief i like.

I bet they get Lidge. I don't want him but you watch and see ... That's who they'll get!

Wayne, if you get Lidge from us, it will be great for you. For whatever reason (Pujol's blast), he can't pitch for us again...but I feel he can be a good pitcher somewhere else. I hope we at least get something in return...most likely a couple of AA or AAAs

Wayne, i have to agree.. I do believe Lidge is going to boston and hopefully he will choke in the AL if that does happen... I wonder if the yanks will land Zito or Shmidt... I hope not.. They have some youngsters that i would like to get more of a look at... Lets get that payroll back down to the 130-150 million level with young studs on the mound!!!!

I heard Zito does not want to leave the west coast. Can you say L.A. or S.F.???

Scmidt is getting old and beaten up!

Why did Glavine decline his option with the Mets? He was doing well there with a solid team. Do you think he wants to finish @ home in Boston???

If Sox have have all of this money, how come they didn't spend a little more of it to keep some of the players who contributed so much to that championship season say like JOHNNY DAMON!

My question is this....I know they only pay the $42 million IF they sign him. Let's say after 30 days, they do not sign him...does the next highest bidder get 30 days to sign? If not, perhaps the Red Sox put a huge offer in just to gain the rights with no intention of signing him to keep him away from the Yankees? Could this happen? It would not cost them a dime....
