Since 1998 SEC is 31-28 SU and 29-30 ATS in bowl games.
In that same time frame:

Dude, I was responding to the one of many blanket statements made by Jason.
SHOULDA WOULDA COULDA. Every team, in every sport is full of THEM.

FWIW, I'm from SEC country, and I think that the SEC is a tad bit overrated. I still believe that they are the best conference more often than not, but I don't think it's as wide of a margin as some make it out to be.
That being said Frank, I've got two things that I want to add. First, those sagarin ratings actually hurt your argument. I mean, let's get real here. The SEC may be overrated, but who in their right mind believes that the SEC was the FIFTH best conference last year and the SIXTH best conference the year before? Come on now, that's absurd.
Secondly, and I've done this with everyone that brings up bowl records, you have to look deeper than just the record. You have to also see what the matchups were. For example, if you have the SEC #4 going up against another conferences #3and they lose, that's not necessarily a black eye on the SEC. All it means is that the 4th best SEC team isn't better than the 3rd best from another conference.
Now granted, I haven't done the research so the results could very well work out in your favor (ex= SEC #2 losing to another conference's #3) , but I just wanted to point out that when looking at bowl games, you have to dig deeper than just won-loss records.
