    Dolphins vs. Bears

Dolphins top Bears as NFL Fever on Monday Night Continues on Xbox.com

Today, Microsoft announced the results of week fourteen of NFL Fever on Monday Night. NFL Fever on Monday Night is a simulated highlight reel, game summary and statistics which appears every Friday on www.xbox.com previewing the upcoming Monday Night game. All games are played in incredibly realistic replicas of NFL stadiums, using Microsoft Game Studios' NFL Fever 2003 for Xbox.

Last week, NFL Fever on Monday Night continued to build on its impressive record this year by correctly predicting the Oakland Raiders over the New York Jets. Fever's simulation called for the Raiders to stop New York on a late fourth quarter drive and win by seven. In the actual game, Oakland DB, Rod Woodson intercepted a last second Chad Pennington pass to secure a six-point Raiders victory, 26-20. NFL Fever on Monday Night has now correctly predicted nine out of the last ten Monday Night contests.

This week features the Chicago Bears traveling to Pro Player Stadium to battle their former coach, Dave Wannstedt and the Miami Dolphins.

    NFL Fever on Monday Night:
    Dolphins vs. Bears

    Game Summary

Chicago won the toss and on the first play from scrimmage, Brock Marion picked off Jim Miller's sideline pass. Miami wasted no time scoring as Jay Fiedler hit Chris Chambers on a 5-yard touchdown pass. Fiedler later found Randy McMichael on a 50-yard bomb giving the Dolphins a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Bears chopped away at the Dolphins' lead with consecutive scoring drives ending with a 23-yard field goal by Paul Edinger and a 3-yard touchdown pass from Miller to Dustin Lyman. Bears running back Leon Johnson, who started in place of the injured Anthony Thomas tacked on a 2-point conversion cutting the score to 14-11. However just prior to the half, Miami was able to manufacture an Olindo Mare 18-yard field goal to extend the Miami lead to six.

The second half belonged to Ricky Williams. The Dolphins' star running back scored on an 18-yard run to open the half and tacked on his own 2-point conversion. Chicago answered with a Miller to Marcus Robinson 43-yard bomb, but Ricky Williams caught Jay Fiedler's screen and scampered over 80 yards to keep the Dolphins two score lead, 32-18.

Williams added a 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach. Chicago made it respectable with a 26-yard field goal by Paul Edinger and another Miller to Robinson touchdown connection as time expired, but Miami never relinquished the lead, winning 39-27.

Ricky Williams was named this week's Player of the Game finishing with 194 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns. Jay Fiedler looked impressive in his first start back from injury, completing 12 of 20 passes for 247 yards and three touchdowns. The win was a big one for Miami, improving their record to 8-5 and keeping them atop the AFC East for at least another week. For the Bears, it was their tenth loss on the disappointing season where just one year ago they finished 13-3.
