It's not a Colonial athletic match up, just a game involving a CAA team. Old Dominion vs. Monmouth
I play very small on pre-conference or early season games. I LOVE the Colonials and it's the only league I follow.
So with that said.....
Monmouth +10' over Old Dom
I anticipated, and still do believe the early lines involving the BIG THREE from the CAA to be a bit inflated in light of the success Old Dom, Hofstra and of course G Mason had in the NCAA and NIT. Monmouth has two seasoned senior fowards and a 7'2' 310lb center which should make it difficult on the Monarchs. ODU lost there most productive player, Loughton to graduation and Araud Dahi their top returning scorer and rebounder spent the majority of the off season rehabing a post operative knee. He admittedly stated he is not in the shape or experience he wishes to be in.
ODU got off to a very slow start in their exhibition game until the "cream rose to the top" and they simply outclassed their opponent. I anticipate that slow start to happen again and may make a small offerring on a first half bet if offered.
I don't know much about Monmouth so a small play is in order as I look for Old Dom to win a close one.
