  • Two Big Weekend CFB Plays

    CFB YTD 33-28 -0.4 units
    2* 3-5 -5.0 units
    1* 30-23 +4.6 units

    NFL/CFB Combined 45-37 +3.4 units
    2* 6-6 -1.2 units
    39-31 +4.6 units

I had a miserable 3-5 weekend last week in college and didn't play anything in the NFL. I have two real strong plays this weekend that I am playing now as the lines are already moving.

    3* Kentucky -2
For starters, Kentucky is a better team than Vanderbilt and is coming off a thrilling win over Georgia. Vandy lost a tough one at home to Florida and now travels with their big rivalry game against Tennessee next week. Kentucky guarantees its first bowl berth OF THE DECADE with the win as they have a soft game against Lou-Monroe next week. They certainly won't be looking ahead! Kentucky has a very high powered offense and Vandy's defense is only OK.

    2* Hawaii -38
Hawaii has the most unstoppable offense I've ever seen in college football. At least, nobody in the weak WAC can stop it. In the last four weeks they have scored: 68, 49, 63, 68! They are AVERAGING 43 points a game. This week they take on a terrible Louisiana Tech team with one of America's worst defenses. This is also Tech's third road game in a row and comes after a hard fought win at North Texas. Hawaii's defense has held each of its last two opponents to ten points. The number is huge but I look for Hawaii to be up by at least 31 at the half. My only worry is that Hawaii accepted a bowl bid this week and may be a little flat but note that QB Colt Brennan is completing 73 percent of his passes, as is his backup. Hawaii gave Boise State a tough game in Boise and took Alabama to the wire earier. Hawaii may score 70 here. If so, they only have to hold Lou Tech under 32.

Got to it before I did..... UH should ROLL BIG this weekend. La Tech is young and suffered some key injuries. This combined with the travel makes for a bad situation. UH wants to win out, win big and gain some national recognition. Given the time difference, mid-major conference and small market the only way to get the attention is to put up ungodly numbers. In addition, this team has a chance to set the single-season record for wins and Brennan can break the national single-season record for TD passes in a season. He's at 39 currently..... I think the record is 54 held by David Klingler. This kid is humble and level-headed, the hype machine won't get to him.

Defense has forced 15 or so turnovers over the span of the last 3 games and has knocked out several players (Idaho QB, NMSU QB, Fresno RB....). Defense is really taking pride in their play, Glanville has 'em flying to the ball and they have been blowing people up. La Tech embarassed us at their place last year..... don't expect June Jones to let up until the 4Q.

If there's a 1st half play, it's golden. Even at 38, Hawaii should ROLL to a 45 point win.

          GO 'BOWS!!!

Won't happen unless 9 SEC teams make bowl game, which almost certainly won't be the case.
Anyway, good luck. If ever there was a game to lay 38 points, Hawaii is it.

If Kentucky finishes 5-3 or even 4-4 in the SEC West and 8-4 or 7-5 overall, there's no way they don't get a bowl game. They have a loyal fan base that would be attractive to many bowls.

Lanal. You read my mind. I just played the first half at minus 21 at Pinny -122. I don't mind the extra juice for this one. Good Luck Gris. It would be nice to end Saturday with a win.
