Good luck today, everybody!
Six-Pack for Tuesday
Golfing six-pack
-- There are eleven tournaments on this year's PGA Tour that Tiger Woods has never entered. Some of those eleven could really use his presence, if only for one weekend.
-- He is skipping this week's TOUR Championship to "recharge"; he is contracted to play the four weekends after that, mostly in Asia. Wonder what the Tour powers-to-be think of that.
-- Woods played in only fifteen events this year, absolute minimum you can play and keep your Tour card (barring injury).
-- #125 and 126 on the money list turned out to be guys who didn't need the exemption. Darren Clarke ($660,898) was #125; Rich Beem ($658,225) #126. Both edged out Bubba Dickerson ($650,314) who did need the exemption- at least he gets a partial for being in the top 150.
-- #150 wound up being Chris Riley, with $495,314, with Robert Gamez just missing out, with $443,641. The top 150 guys get limited exemptions into 2007 tournaments.
-- 31 golfers wound up making $2M+, with Tom Pernice grabbing last spot in TOUR championship, with $2,130,548, edging J.M. Olazabal ($2,120,422), who gets weekend off.
