              Six-Pack for Monday

-- My guess for the Nov. 19 NBC Sunday night game is an AFC West showdown between San Diego and Denver. They announce which game gets moved on Tuesday.

-- Rutgers coach Greg Schiano will earn more than $1 million this season. Thats Rutgers with an R, million with an M.

-- 25 points Cowboys scored in fourth quarter Sunday was most points Dallas has ever scored in a fourth quarter.

-- NFC was 13-8 vs AFC thru six weeks of season, but just 2-8 in the last two weeks, with Patriots-Vikings Monday.

-- Houston Texans have now lost 11 straight road games.

-- Tennessee Titans won consecutive games for first time since last game of '03 season, first game of '04 campaign.

                NFL

Patriots (5-1) @ Vikings (4-2)-Pats scored 11 TDs on 30 drives in last three games, have played good ball on road (3-0, wins at Jets 24-17, Bengals 38-13, Bills 28-6) but have showdown with Colts next week, after divisional game with Bills last week, so little bit of sandwich game for them, while Vikings will be primed for home Monday nighter. NFC North teams are 5-1 against spread in non-divisional home games. Vikings had only five TDs on 53 drives before their bye, but had three on 11 at Seattle LW, running ball for 175 yards behind former Seahawk Hutchinson. Belichick's defense has yet to allow more than 17 points; invest against him at your own risk.

                          NFL

Monday's List of 13: Wrapping up an NFL Sunday

                          13) Don't look now, but Raiders are playing good defense; in last three games, they allowed two TDs on 32 drives, and had two defensive scores vs Steelers Sunday.

                          12) Flip side is that their offense is hideous; they ran 49 plays against Pittsburgh, gaining 98 yards, were 5-14/17 passing, and converted 1 of 11 on third down. But they won, so what does that say about their opponent??????

                          11) Steelers threw two picks for TDs, and managed just a pair of field goals in four drives inside the Oakland 20-yard line. Has anyone considered that maybe Roethlisberger shouldn't be playing, that it isn't helping him or the team?

                          10) Halftime score: Bears 41, 49ers 0. Which team does that score say more about? I honestly don't know........

                          9) Good to hear Pat Summerall back doing play-by-play, even if he had the worst NFL game of the decade to call. His voice sounds strong, good to hear. I think he's doing some college games for FOX in January.

                          8) No matter what your opinion of Michael Vick as a player, he is undeniably fun to watch. he has seven TDs in his last two games, by way. TE Alge Crumpler is his security blanket. Vick plays better against teams he doesn't see very often.

                          7) Jets got totally screwed on out-of-bounds call on last pass by Pennington, who made great throw. TE Baker got hit, and was ruled out-of-bounds, which appeared to be very bad call that is unreviewable. Defender also made great hit; only guy that didn't do his job right was the official.

                          6) Jets' first play of game was end-around from their own 8. Jets' OC Brian Schottenheimer doesn't take after his father, I guess-- he did play college ball for Steve Spurrier.

                          5) Pennington reminds me so much of Pat Haden, who played for Rams in 70's; both very smart, they even look alike. Both have weakish throwing arms; if you did a split-screen with both of them side-by-side, the similarities would be striking.

                          4) Peyton Manning's numbers Sunday: 32-39/345. Colts had eight drives, scored three TDs, kicked four FGs. On the drive they punted, they still gained 36 yards on six plays, all while facing defense that had allowed two TDs on 62 drives in '06.

                          3) With Tomlinson over 1,000 yards rushing already, it makes nine years in row that FB Lorenzo Neal has blocked for 1,000 yard rusher. What a valuable player he is.

                          2) Now that Houston yanked David Carr and was rallied by backup Sage Rosenfels, don't they look even dumber for not drafting Vince Young?

                          1) Once the QB crosses line of scrimmage with ball, he should not get any special treatment. You want to advance the ball, then prepare to be hit. It is tackle football, after all.
