I had a blah Saturday, going 2-2 in CFB, after my monster night in baseball Friday. All three of these plays were posted a few days ago at the lines I list below. While all have moved a bit, I consider each play still strong.
NFL:
2* Broncos -2 1/2 (-115)
Denver's defense is the best in the AFC and especially strong at home. While the Broncos' offense has been disappointing, Indy hasn't been as strong as its unbeaten record would indicate. The Colts have had a somewhat soft schedule and have skated by a couple of times. It ends today.
1* Bears/49ers UNDER 42
I think the Bears win easily but I don't want to lay all the points. A better pick is the under. I think San Fran is held to no more than 3. If so, Chicago will run a ball control offense and not get past the low 30s.
College:
1* Rutgers -18 1/2
Rutgers' showdown game is eleven days away so I don't look for a letdown. Rutgers defense is one of the best I've seen this year. While they don't score a lot of points, UConn's weak D can't stop anybody.
