TY GASTON SEZ BOBBY BONDS SHOULD BE IN THE HALL OF FAME

Former Major League Baseball Player BOBBY BONDS, father of BARRY BONDS, should be in The Hall of Fame, says Ty Gaston from TyGaston.com.

Bobby Bonds underwent open heart surgery on Friday, one of many ailments the senior Bonds has suffered. Bobby Bonds has also been suffering from lung cancer, as well as surgery for a brain tumor. But despite Bobby Bonds recent ailments, why is he not in baseballs Hall of Fame?

Did you know Bobby Bonds was a three time All Star?

Did you know Bobby Bonds was MVP of the 1973 All Star Game?

Did you know Bobby Bonds is the only player other than his son to be in the 30HR, 30 Steals Club, 5 times? No other player has been in the 30-30 club more than 3 times, Barry and Bobby both have done it 5 times!

Did you know Bobby Bonds hit 332 home runs and stole 461 bases in his 14 year career?

Did you know Bobby Bonds played for 8 Major League Baseball Teams?

Did you know Bobby Bonds has a career .268 batting average, .353 on base percentage, and a .471 career slugging percentage?

Did you know Bobby Bonds has 3 career Gold Gloves?

Did you know that Bobby Bonds has a career 73% stolen base percentage? That’s right 73 out of 100 steal attempts, he was safe?

Did you know that Bobby Bonds in his career hit 1 home run out of every 21 at bats, a feat only accomplished career wise by 47 other players?

The only setback to Bobby Bonds career is that he struck out 1757 times in 1849 career games, or 7,043 at bats. Despite the large amount of strikeouts he still hit .268 in his career. But despite the strikeouts, he also had 1,886 career hits in 1,849 career games or more than one hit per game, of those 1,886 career hits 17% of them were homers.

Bobby Bonds was always a gentleman on and off the field. He shared the field with the likes of Willie Mays and Willie McCovey two of the greatest home run hitters of all time. Mays and McCovey got all the print, but Bobby Bonds was a key player in his years with the San Francisco Giants. One must not forget in 1975 when Bobby Bonds played for the Yankees and hit 32 home runs and stole 30 bases or in 1977 with the Angels when Bobby hit 37 home runs and stole 41 bases, numbers which were absurd at that time. Absurd because those were the days of the PITCHER, not the hitter!
Bobby Bonds deserves to be in baseballs Hall of Fame, he was the most complete additional player a team could ever want. He wasn’t THE STAR, on the teams he played on, but was probably one of the best ROLE PLAYERS in baseball history. Not too bad for a guy 6’ 1” and 190 pounds soaken wet!

I would like to see a campaign started to have Barry and Sammy tested for steroids! It should be done, because if they are using them (and I find it hard to believe they are not), then they are tarnishing all the records that were ever set and making a mockery of the game.

Bobby will get into the hall if he deserves to. Start the campaign for Barry and Sammy and others to be tested, to preserve the integrity of the game!
