KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Damon Huard, nursing a sore hamstring, did not practice Friday and may not start Sunday against Seattle.
Coach Herm Edwards said rookie Brodie Croyle would start if Huard can't play. Edwards said it could be a game-day decision. Croyle, drafted last spring out of Alabama, worked exclusively with the first team Friday, while Huard watched from the sidelines.
Huard was injured Thursday, leaving Croyle to finish that day's practice with the first team.
Trent Green, the Chiefs' No. 1 quarterback, returned to limited practice this week for the first time since having a severe concussion on Sept. 10. He is expected to miss at least two more games.
Huard, who is 3-2 as a starter since taking over for Green, is ranked fifth in the NFL with a 96.7 quarterback rating. He has completed 104 of 163 passes for 1,163 yards and seven touchdowns.
While Croyle might get his first start for the Chiefs, Seahawks backup Seneca Wallace, will fill in for the injured Matt Hasselbeck.
Wallace was 14 of 25 for 134 yards and two interceptions in relief after Hasselbeck was injured last Sunday. Hasselbeck is out for three weeks with a sprained MCL on his right knee.
Croyle, a rookie from Alabama, was 3 of 7 for 23 yards and two picks in a mop-up role at the end of a 45-0 blowout loss to the Steelers.
