  • WHAT was everyone thoughts about the KENNY ROGERS PINe TAR??

here what one my buddies wrote and i would have to agree whaat u guys think??

saw that last night, and I knew it was pine tar from the get go. This was seen on his hand in the ALDS and ALCS. In the 2nd inning, Tony had a ball in his hand and was talking to an ump and all of a sudden the camera goes to him and he quickly puts the ball in his pocket.

Why didn't they get him checked right away? I'll tell you why. If Dusty Baker was the manager and Kerry Wood was on the mound, LaRussa would have been out there in a heartbeat getting his glove checked and hand checked. Tony and Leyland are great friends and I think that is why Tony didn't pursue it as hard. I think Tony calls Leyland before game 6 and says "listen here, I let go one time, but he better be clean this game, because if I see something going on, I'm not going to let it go this time."

I'm looking forward to a game 6 to see how this guy pitches with a cleand hand and glove. If he gets rocked, then we'll know for sure. Not sure how a guy can have the highest ERA in post season before this year, and then has shit on his hand and has a 0.00 ERA (at 41 years old). He's cheating.

Another thing, he should be suspended anyway. He pitched with something on his hand and the umps told him to "go wash your hands". Rules state if you are pitching w/ a foriegn substance, you are kicked out and suspended 10 games, pine tar or not.
WHAT U GUYS THINK??? I PERSONALLY THINK HE GOT CAUGHT WITH HIS PANTS DOWN BUT I DO NOT THINK THIS HAS MADE HE PITCH THAT MUCH BETTER OR WOULD IT MAKE THAT MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE??? I DO NO I NEVER PITCH IN BASES/////
    GO CARDSSSSSSSSSSSS

I got no dog in this fight...but it was ruled that he had dirt
on his hand. Dirt is considered part of the playing surface...
    hence no penalty.

    Play Ball!

In 1988, Jay Howell was suspended for the NLCS for being caught with pine tar on his glove in one of the games. If they find that it's pine tar, he should be suspended.

Most pitchers say that pine isn't all that much better than resin for getting a grip on the ball, so i'm not sure why he would take the chance of getting caught.

Rogers is a piece of shit head case and will be rattled when he takes the mound in gm. 6. The guy is a cheater and a prick to fans. With that said both Larussa and the unps blew it in Gm. 2. He should have been kicked out of the game IMO. There is no way it was dirt, it was pine tar.

I agree. Larussa and Leyland are boys, that's why he didn't have Rogers undressed on the mound. But the umpires new he has something on his hand and he should have been ejected, and should be suspended for 10 games like the rules say. If it was dirt, how come is whole hand wasn't dirty? It was just dirty in the area under his thumb?? It was so blatantly apparent that it was pine tar. He cheated he got caught, and he should have to pay for what he did.

I heard it was neither....Upon further testing they determined his hand popped thru the toilet paper and it was actually shit....Now it depends what type of shit it was to determine if it was an advantage....

If it was runny it is no advantage

If it was goopy then there is an advantage

If there was corn or peanuts then it will affect the trajectory of the ball and he should be suspended....
No corn or peanuts should be allowed!!!

The Umpires determined it was not an ilegal substance, they were there, 2 foot away, and your vision/hindsight is so good you state it definitely was Pine Tar.......amazing---

you could call and control the game from your living room........

had there been a foreign/ilegal substance, they would have re acted in that manner.........you think the Professional Umps give a damn who's managing and who is friends or not......

blatantly apparent it was pine tar-----you saw that and determined that from your living room, and they have professional Umpires just inches away.......maybe you can call the next game from your living room, using your remote........geez

makes more sense than posts # 5 and # 7........

kinda hard to tell the viscity and content of that shit from my living room.........

but I say it was apparently "Prune Juice" induced by the color

and yes I saw that from my living room thousands of miles away----blatantly obvious it was "Prune Juice" induced and possibly "Olive Oil" enhanced ....kapt

                              damn you're good

PS---on one of those pitches, I could have swore I saw something fall off between Home Plate and the Pitchers mound on a 93 MPH fast ball, and I swar I saw a fragment of yellow, obviously a piece of "Corn"........from my living room no less, and the damn Umpire just inches away missed it.......geez---waht a "FIX"", and just because the mgrs are friends..........
