whats wrong with verlander starting game 1.......he's arguably their best pitcher.......I just dont see how you could say it should be any of the other 3 starters -

He seemed to be there weakest pitcher in the playoffs so far and he's a rookie too right, hope Leyland's right.

The tigers dont have a weak offense. They are dangerous top to bottom. HOw many teams have an eigth hitter like brandon inge. Their lineup has great balance with granderson leading things off and polanco setting the table for guys like magglio, carlos guillen, pudge etc....I dont even see this series being close. If the tigers dont sweep, then the cards will scrape just 1 win
