    •October 19, 2006 NeTeller Announcement

Online gambling money-transfer company NeTeller accounced today that they will end transactions with U.S. players sometime within the 270 day period outlined in the recently passed Internet gambling prohibition bill. They said once the Secretary of the Treasury and the Attorney General's office implement restrictions on transactions, NeTeller will follow suit. NeTeller has been the most common money transfer option for U.S. players so a change like this will likely significantly curtail U.S. players' abilities to participate in real-money online gambling sites.

I thought it would be about 50-50 which way Neteller went on this.

They are not an American company. However, banks probably would have been forced to stop doing any business with them, costing neteller its non-gambling business.

My own guess is that Western Union transfers to third parties and cashier's checks will be the only ways to fund accounts.

Neteller is a bit over rated as they charge such an excessive fee depending on the amount you want sent via fast cash... I do not feel ike waiting days for my money to clear so I dont use any other way on there... but at 8.9% per transaction... thats a lot to me where as FirePay is a set fee no matter the amount...

SUBJECT: New FirePay policy for US account holders

On September 30, 2006, the United States Congress passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006.

Once President Bush approves the Act. FirePay (www.firepay.com) will no longer allow US consumer payments for online gambling merchants.

Beginning the day President Bush signs the Act, FirePay will decline any purchase transactions from US FirePay account holders at any gambling merchant site.
Ten days after President Bush signs the Act, FirePay will decline any transfer attempt made by any online gambling merchant to a US FirePay account.
All US FirePay accounts holders will continue to be able to make purchases and receive payments from non-gambling, online merchants, as well as “Deposit From” and “Withdraw To” their US bank account.

Does this mean they will stop money movement coming back to the US? If so, I might have to clean out the Pinny account before the 270 day period is up.

How does that work, moondog? Wouldn't US banks quit doing business with those operations as well? I have some money in Bowmans so I need to look into that option.
