You guy thrives on the spotlight and simply refuses to lose. You don't do what he did in College and go on to be a mediocre QB in the NFL. He is a STAR and he has turned this horrible Tenn. team around 180 degrees in 2 weeks of play as a rookie!
i agree wayne....those were 2 amazing performances....but college and NFL are 2 different games....i dont think young will be very good, but thats just my opinion....his style of quarterback has not been to succesful in the NFL.

The difference is also in preparing. I bet if you asked any of the defensive coordinators who they would rather prepare for, it's not Vince Young, It's Leinart. Young will give defenses nightmares each week!

Wayne, I agree and think that Young will be a better pro than Leinart (and Vick).

I think overall if you take the so called colored QB with mobility, there have not been that many until recent years with McNair, Vick, & Mcnabb. Even Culpeppers numbers in Minnesota were pretty damn good overall. I can't really think of other colored QB's with mobility that have failed?. All 3 (McNair,McNabb,Vick) have been pretty successful. Akili Smith was a failure but he wasn't in the same mold with his legs as the other 4 are/were in their careers.

Maybe people have not been watching him play. He literally has defenses back peddling and confused in the last 2 weeks of play. Defenses are scared to death of this guy and his arm is strong and deadly. He is also built like a horse!

I agree. I've seen some AMAZING college QBs that did NOTHING in the NFL. I've seen some average college QB do GREAT in the NFL.

              Two different games.

you are right about the numbers but the championships arent there.....yeah mcnabb went to 4 straight championship games and mcnair was within a yard of almost winning a superbowl but they never win the big game in the NFL. I think the pocket passer will always be the most succesful style of qb in the nfl. Mcnair was good for a year but since that superbowl he has been average....culpepper had good numbers but never got to the big game...i think vick's career has been average as well...Mcnabb is a stud though! I REALLY like vince young and i enjoyed watching him play in college so i hope you are right about him, i would like to see him do well.

Damn jeff. How many titles does Marino have? Was he not a great QB? I guess Brady is one of the top 3 in history then!

yeah he was....im saying that style of play doesnt produce great qb's...with marino back there you knoew you had a chance to win big games....you cant say that about vick, culpepper, or mcnair....but i think you can say that with mcnabb.

Time will tell. I believe Young will be a good NFL QB. No where near the QB he was in college.

                          NONE!

How many does McNabb have? NONE
                          McNair? NONE
                          Vick? NONE

NO ONE will have compare any of those 3 with Marino. Lots of great QB never won or played in a Super Bowl. Does that diminsh their greatness? Of course not.

Both Leinart and Young play for lousy teams. My bet at seasons end Leinart has better stats.

Not that one partial season makes a career.

Show me another guy that put up these numbers in back to back BCS Spotlight games and failed at the next level. One great game, maybe but i've never seen a College player do this on a stage that big before (TWICE)!

                              '06 Rose Bowl
                              ---------------

                              19 rushes for 200 yds and 3 td's

The most amazing performance i've ever seen by a QB on ANY level!

                              '05 Rose Bowl
                              ---------------

Down 10 heading to the 4th and won!

                              21 rushes 192 yds 4 TD's

                              In 2 games
                              -----------

                              1 Turnover!

This is basically for those who forgot how great Vince was in these games. Both were amazing in my eyes!
