Guys I'll have my people talk to some of these other people's people. Don't worry, we'll get all this shit figured out in no time.

When the wind is blowing out at Wrigley, some of Piniella's tossed bases may make it out onto Waveland Ave.
You can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you might find, you get what you need.

It's true Macha didn't get along with Beane. Beane dosen't get along with any manager who questions him. That's why he stuck with Art Howe for so long.

I have a theory why Macha got fired. A longshot guess, but it's been written that third base coach Ron Washington is well thought of in major league baseball and could get some offers to fill one of the magager vacancies. He was on some teams list last year. If the reason Macha got fired was not because of wins and losses and it should not have been, then I'm thinking Beane wants Washington to be his manager longterm and if he dosen't offer him the job soon, he will be managing somewhere else. Just my wild guess.

As for Macha being fired, any team still looking for a manager. would be smart to consider him. It's not his fault, both his middle infielders are injuried and his best pitcher missed almost the entire year. He was able to keep Bradley and to a lessor extend Frank Thomas happy and productive. With Crosbly and Ellis injured, Bradly, Kotsay and Harren not 100% for the Detroit series, the A's would have lost nomatter who was managing.

A sad day for the A's unless there is something big behind this.

Piniella, who will be introduced Tuesday at a news conference, has a deal that is worth about $10 million.

The 63-year-old Piniella has a record of 1,519-1,420 and was honored as AL manager of the year in 1995 and 2001.
