Ref's made a bad call in the Cinn / TB game. Called Cinn for ruffing the QB when it clearly wasnt and it would have caused a TO for Cinn as well. Instead, it's a 15 yd pen and TB goes in for the score. Diddn't have anything on it but a real BS call.

Game should never have come down to that call. Can't blame the refs for losing a game, Cincy should have put them away....Three Jack's Record http://www.bettorschat.com/forums/sh...10#post1323910

But according to league officials they are going to error on the side of protecting the QB. If a play is questionable with a hit on the QB they will call a foul.
That being said, it was a QB sack. TB's QB had the ball and before he was brought down the ball came out. The Cinncy player just brought down the QB. He didn't do anything extra. Even the TV guys said I don't know what they were calling there.

I watch NFL Total Access on the NFL Network each week. My favorite segment is with VP of officiating Mike Pereira. When watching the game it gets frustrating at times with some of the calls made on QB hits.
This past week on the show this was the topic of conversation. Periara said the league, players, owners and coaching are comitted to protecting QBs. IMO it really does make lots of sense. It's a better league with the top QBs playing and not sitting on the bench injured.
