I ended the regular season on a roll, hitting my last three dog plays in a row and winning an amazing five more dogs than I lost. This is my first play so far of the playoffs.
1* Cardinals to win World Series +485
This is a flat-out value play. (The line was available at thegreek; similar lines are available at other offshores.) If all things were equal, the fair odds on all four teams to win the World Series would be 3-1 (or +300). St. Louis has ballooned to a high number because of the poor way it ended the regular season. But far more relevant was the Cards' impressive performance against the Padres. St. Louis' starting pitching staff is as good as the Mets (because of injuries to Pedro and El Duque) and the lineups are also reasonably close. NY's only big edge is in the bullpen where the Cards are admittedly awful. If they win this series, I can always hedge back a bit and take the AL in the World Series. I play mostly dogs in baseball because it's the only way I know how to make decent profits in this sport. This play is just a basic dog value play and if you keep looking for value in bases, you'll win enough bets at inflated prices to show nice profits.
Opinion only: Cardinals in tonite's game (again, the line is too big to ignore)
