I would trade Francona for Torre any day;I still think he is one of the best managers in the game.

While it would not surprise me if Joe Torre does not return to manage the Yankees next year, I sincerely doubt he will be fired.
A mutually agreed buyout seems like the most realistic solution for all parties.

Dont get me wrong... I respect the hell out of Torre but he seemed to have lost the fire... They need somebody to light a fire under these underacheivers asses and make them grow a sack... Sweet Lou would be a logical choice but i'm hoping if this does happen, Girardi will come back

You have to be kidding me about trading Francona for Torre...Torre has done a good job controlling the egos of the players, but it's not hard to have a winning record with the lineup and amount of money the Yanks spend. Torre was horrible with the Mets, slightly below 500 (498) with the Cards, and 28 gaems above 500 with Atlanta...in essence, a below average manager...the payroll made Torre a good manager, not his skills. He was out coached by Leyland in the series and the better manager won!
