sorry spearit, it is a little strange, but pinny's offering movie opening lines now. texas chainsaw massacre:the beginning. It's coming up this weekend against the departed (at -200 for the over 22 million, otherwise I'd take that. because that movie's gonna be awesome! they can't adjust the line too much on that one, so they just adjust the cost/ML.) I wouldn't bet your house on it, the first TCM (the recent one I mean) did well, with an opening BO of 20-25 million, the figure escapes me. but that's why the line is set here, because it is presumed that everyone who saw that one will return, but that was a weak week for movie releases, and there was a lot more hype (some hype this time, but for the departed!).

I forgot to mention that the line started out here (in reno, which may be the difference) at -9.5 for Hawai'i, and hovered there all week, leaving me to the opinion that the public's dumping money on Hawaii, as typically lines may move, but not that much. JMO, I thought about this great statistic re when a line moves one (or two or four and half!) points toward the favorite, the % likelihood a dog will cover increases significantly. I'm too hung over to remember the details, but it's worth considering.

TCM: The Beginning Under 20.5 million -115

forgot to post this until now... been a busy week. TCM was under 20.5 million with box office returns of 19.1 million. Maybe someone besides me played this, maybe not. Anyway, movie gross picks are turning into something pretty fun.

I BARELY cashed in on my Air Force moneyline play (not posted, not worth posting). AF down 21-3 at the half against Col State (!) I thought, well Shit! But then... I saw the score scroll up 21-17 at the beginning of the fourth and all of a sudden I was Vince Vaughn in wedding crashers and found myself saying "go for it air force. I like where your head's at"
