I will say this...how long do you think it will take for Sheffield to make a costly error at first? The guy is good, but to be stuck at 1B, at this stage in his career and having never played there vefore...you can't expect him to be perfect....Three Jack's Record http://www.bettorschat.com/forums/sh...10#post1323910

As much as Yankee fans drive me nuts, I will give them this...the Roll Call that the Bleacher Creatures do at the beginning of every game is one of the more original chants that I have heard at a sporting event...if anyone cares.
I will save you all the trouble...Three Jack's Record http://www.bettorschat.com/forums/sh...10#post1323910

Even though one game doesn't decide a series, if what I saw in game 1 is indicative of what is to happen, it seems to me that Detroit is in for a long series, or more aptly stated a short series.
Detroit will get their runs and hits as we saw tonight, as Yankee middle relief is nothing to write home about.
However, when you look at the star studded lineup of Yankees from top to bottom, it is obvious to me anyways that
Detroit doesn't match up well at all against the Yankees, and that their pitching is simply not good enough to shut down this powerful hitting machine.
When you consider that last weekend in the most important of series for the entire season, they were defeated/swept by KC in Detroit and add to that they have really tailed off the second half of the season, to me it will be very difficult to turn it around and even harder since they are down 0-1 in games.
I think the -360 line accurately reflects the strength of the two teams and expecially takes into account that the Tigers may have peaked too early and probably considers that in essence the law of averages has caught up with the Tigers, and that they may be a season away from going further in the playoffs.
When you also factor in that Yankees have not won the WS since 2000 with very good teams(which they still have)and are probably quite hungry, I can understand why they are a prohibitive favorite to win this series.
