El Duque questionable for Game 1 start
Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - The pitching woes of the New York Mets continue to pile up with the news that Orlando Hernandez is questionable to start Game 1 of the club's division series against the Dodgers on Wednesday.
After stretching in the outfield of Shea Stadium on Tuesday, Hernandez felt a discomfort in his right calf. He was subsequently taken to a hospital, where an MRI was scheduled to discover the extent of the injury.
The NL East-champion Mets are already without ace Pedro Martinez, who is out for the postseason due to a torn left calf muscle.
After being acquired from Arizona early in the season, Hernandez went 9-7 with a 4.09 earned run average in 20 starts for the Mets.
