Packers (1-2) @ Eagles (2-1)- Eagle fans might be sneak peak ahead at Dallas visit a week from now, but Andy Reid used to work in Green Bay, and Eagles narrowly escaped Favre in home playoff game few years back, so doubt Philly looks ahead, especially on Monday night. Six-Pack for Monday

-- A's-Twins series Games 1-2 will be played on ESPN both Tuesday, Wednesday at 1pm, as nitwit TV execs shove the New York teams down our throat a little more. Just great.

-- Cardinals, Padres have both Wednesday, Friday off, so we can see either Bronx or Mets in primetime every night.

-- Funny thing, the AL pairings were determined by Royals' reliever Jimmy Gobble, who struck out two Detroit hitters with bases loaded, one out to preserve tie game.

-- Kansas City's sweep in Detroit not only cost Tigers home field in first round of playoffs, it cost Royals first pick in the amateur draft next June. Devil Rays get the top selection; they did an awful lot to earn it this season, going 61-101.

-- By the way, Tampa Bay was putrid this year, but five of the 25 guys on their Opening Day roster made the playoffs.

-- ESPN's commercial with Tommy Lasorda for the baseball playoffs is an absolute classic. He tries to talk distraught Red Sox fan out of a locked bathroom by saying it is a good chance to root against the Bronx Bombers.

Monday's List of 13: Wrapping up an NFL Sunday..........

      13) Jets were +3 in turnovers and had 103-yd kick return for a TD, but still lost to Colts, as Manning led Indy on drives of 68,61 yards in last 8:00 to pull out 31-28 win at Meadowlands.

      12) Ravens gained just 206 total yards, 56 on ground, drove in for TD on 60-yard drive to nip hyper-conservative Charger club that had gained 16 yards on last 16 plays before Ravens scored to win game with 0:34 left. Baltimore had fumbled on
1-yard line in third quarter. Better team lost this game.

      11) Long pass that would have put Vikings inside the Buffalo 10-yard line in last minute glanced off Marcus Robinson's hands as Vikings fell short in western New York. Bills had 15 penalties, Minnesota 12 in flagfest that saw teams convert on only seven of 27 third down plays.

      10) Dallas ran ball for 217 yards, Vince Young struggled in his first NFL start, as Cowboys put their media circus aside for 3 hours and hammered Tennessee, 45-14. Was surprised that Bledsoe is now 13th on all-time TD pass list.

      9) Chiefs took out frustrations of 0-2 start out on 49ers, 41-0; Niners averaged 2.4 yards per pass, Chiefs 9.0. Chiefs had a 19-yard advantage in average starting field position, was +4 in turnovers, and Huard hit on 18-23 passes for 208 yards.

      8) Saints suffered first loss, travelling on short week after the emotional Monday night win, but Brees passed for 344 yards and PAyton's club might have shown they're in race for long haul by hanging with Carolina whole way. Panthers threw ball for just 5.2 yards per attempt, not so good.

      7) Falcons ran ball for 262 yds, passed for 143 as they waxed Cardinals in what was likely Warner's last start for Arizona, as Green announced after that Leinart wouls atart vs Chiefs next week in Glendale. Red flag for Atlanta is that Vick is not good passer when in pocket; they've struggled in red zone, too.

      6) Houston won 64% of third down plays, stopped Dolphins' tying 2-point play with 1:39 left, as Kubiak got first win as a head coach and Mario Williams got first sack. Miami lost this game despite +2 turnover ratio, as they're off slowly for the second year in a row, and visit New England next.

      5) Typical Mike Martz; his offense scored 34 points, but had minus-3 turnover ratio and lost close game to Jim Haslett's resourceful defense (three takeaways), 41-34. Remember that Martz is only head coach to lose playoff game to Saints, but his Lions looked lively on offense today. Not lively enough.

      4) Patriots ran ball for 236 yards, mainly by rookie Maroney, as they handed Bengals first loss and avoided consecutive losses. New England scored game's last 24 points, had four sacks and 424-279 edge in total yardage in Dillon's return to Queen City. WR Gabriel emerging as threat for QB Brady.

      3) Redskins won two-thirds of 3rd down plays, ran the ball for 152 yards and then Brunell hit long game-winning TD pass to Moss in OT for win in his first game vs former team. Yardage in game was 481-307, first downs 22-12, sacks, 4-0, but game still got to OT, as Jaguars lost second straight tough road tilt

      2) Raiders led 21-3, but 9-24/46 passing proved fatal as they lost third straight game, 24-21 to Cleveland team that came in 0-3. Can't imagine Raiders averaging 1.6 yds/pass; this is the franchise of Lamonica, Stabler, Plunkett; hell, maybe they will be calling Jeff George again soon. He should hang up on 'em.

      1) Bears looked like best team in last decade in decisive 37-6 thrashing of Alexander-less Seahawks, 37-6. Grossman gives Chicago vertical passing threat, and voracious defense kept pressure on Seattle whole game. This was a snoozer.
