Guess I'm the only one that thinks this is too harsh. People deliberately take illegal drugs - whether performance enhancing or not - and receive less punishment than this guy who made one (admittedly terrible) rash mistake.
    Records:

    NCAA Hoops (38-34-2, +4.59*)
    NFL Sides (34-25, +12.15*)
    NFL Totals (18-14-1, +8.23*)
    NCAA Foots Plays (65-48-4, +21.47*)
    NBA Plays (4-1-0, +5.92*)

are you nuts? the guy intentionally took his cleats and stomped them into another mans head! to harsh? i think you are on some kind of drugs...this guy should never be allowed to play football again.....guys that do the other stuff you mentioned should be banned for at least a year as well imo. The nfl is a bunch of pussies! I am so pissed that this guy only got suspended for 5 games.....i even looked up the adress for the NFL and was about to write them a letter.....probably would do nothing though.

I also agree, they are role models to our youth that play sports.

Have some class, the play was over.

            I couldn't agree more, JBC.
The D.A. here in Nashville announced today that he will pursue no criminal assault charge. That was an intentional act by Haynesworthless, meant to do bodily harm. That's the textbook definition of criminal assault!

Very true, and it should be pursued in court. If it were you or I that did that, there would be no question about our punishment. The NFL is being far too soft here.

The law also states that you give up some rights against physical assault "by competing in a contact sporting event".

I am not defending him, still agree that he should be charged for his actions. This is the reason that they are often not charged for these things.

After watching the clip I can't believe that clown was wining like a little bitch, like he did nothing wrong. I was glad to see Fisher kick his fat ass of the field.
