I know theres at least one other degenerate out there who has already taken a look at the games that start in about an hour and 45 minutes from now...
Any thoughts on these...
The Pittsburgh pen was really tested last night as was Houston's, but at least Houston gets Roy Oswalt starting today who can give them some much needed innings here.. Both teams used 7 relievers last night, but Houston's pen went 12 innings giving up 3 runs and Pittsburgh's pen went 9 2/3 giving up 2 runs... Pittsburgh's closer threw one inning and 28 pitches last night making me think he will not be available today...
Gorzelany has only gone more than 5 innings once in his past three starts... While today might be a better spot to try to play a tired Astros team, they have the momentum and the drive to win along with the better pitcher...
Houston and the Under(Houston is a 2-1 favorite so this makes it a no play on the ML unless thrown into a parlay)
Detroit vs Toronto...
What can we say... Detroit failed to take a commanding 2 game lead with 4 to go last night and now has to come back and try to do it again today... They have the better and hotter picther going for them as Rogers looks for win #18... He is 6-0 with a 1.66 era in his last 8 starts...
AJ Burnett has alternated wins and losses in his last 7 starts(last one was a win) going at least 7 innings in all of them. He has given up 5 home runs in those contests and in the ones he faced a good offense he struggled. 4-1 loss in LAA, 7-6 loss home to NYY, and 6-4 loss in Cleveland... I am not counting the Seattle, Oakland, or two Boston wins as they do not possess a stellar offense like he will face today... They were solid starts, but 3 were against teams out of the playoffs and not caring about the rest of the season... 1/3 of Burnetts wins have come against Boston this year, but when he faces a contender( loss to CHW in the beginning of the year, bad 11-6 loss to Philadelphia, 1-2 vs NYY 2 games were in Toronto, and 1-0 vs Minn) he does not seem to fare well...
That being said... Vote goes to Detroit and the Over 8.5... I just see the Tigers putting up big numbers today and the Jays will scratch off a run or 2 to put this one over the number.. 8-2 Tigers in a romp...
GL all... went 1-0-1 yesterday on posted plays hitting Arizona but pushing that under...
