I think it is just because they pretty much laid an egg in Cleveland this past week. They did not show much offensive life, and Steve McNair has not had a great start to the season. The Chargers are off a bye week and this should be a very low scoring game. This really has 9-6 written all over it.

The line is right. Both D is about the same, but I would have to lean with the Chargers O with LT and Gates.

Baltimore has the best defense, your kidding right. Looking good against Oakland and Cleveland, yeah those teams are offensive jugarnauts.

Im not saying which way to bet, but dont fool yourself thinking Baltimore has a great defense

Baltimore does have a great defense... they have not had the toughest of schedules either to begin the year, but they are revived...

Ray Lewis is healthy and the leader of that defense.... that is one man that can pump anyone up or at least scare you into playing your ass off each week... With Steve McNair they have to believe they have a shot to win this year... that defense will keep them in a lot of games including this one...

bal does have a good defense but i sure wouldnt call it the best yeah they beat up on oak and tampa but they were both playing horrible at the time they barely beat cle and cle is not very good either i think sd wins easily

Ravens are my team; my take

I'm a Balmoron and I bleed purple. Season ticket holder. That said, I'm 3-0 (not documented) on Ravens this year (in TB, home vs. Oak, and yes I took Cle+7). I might bleed purple, but I'm wise enough to see a moneymaker. That was a tough spot for the purple. The D was all over Frye and he was a magician, but the Ravens prevailed.

This week, Ravens win this easy. Rookie qbs on the road just flat lose vs. good Defenses. The Ravens will stop Tomlinson, they stop all RBs. That means Rivers passes on 3rd and long on the road in a frenzied crowd, which he's done 3 times in his career (check the Oakland game).

The Ravens are juiced. The fans are juiced. It's like a super bowl frenzy in Balmer already. We've been begging for leadership at qb, and McNair brings it. Everyone is excited. You can see it, you can feel it.

Trevor Price in the middle with Ngata have been great. Bart Scott and Suggs have been playing out of their minds. The corners McCallister and Rolle are the best tandem in the league. Ed Reed sits at safety, and I think this is the week he makes his plays (haven't seen it yet this year, he's due). Ray Lewis, Adailius THomas, SPEED SPEED SPEED and on the Baltimore home juice vs. the rookie Qb. Rookie QBs lose road games. Seven sacks vs. the elusive Frye last week.

Offense plays better at home, Clayton is catching everything and elusive, Heap, Mason playing great - Mcnair only going to get better. Good punter, Stover has hit 29 straight field goals. Frankly, I'm scared it looks to easy. However, 71% public on SD - YET - the line opened at 3 and went to 2.5 (smart money). I'm crushing this game. I hit a large percentage of my plays on Ravens games (remember I tool Cle last week) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this one.

Other factors - Shottenheimer stinks. Took a vacation this weekend (bye). Players were obviously off too (bad move). They'll be rested, the Ravens are hungry and excited. Ravens are healthy. Billick will play the 'dog' angle. Ravens win. Easy.

And you guys are right, this will be a defensive game so look to who can actually score...I submit that it is the chargers. Sure, Lewis is great, but are you forgetting Shawn Merrimen? This guys will be better than Lewis!

What is the Ravens going to do when they can't run the ball either? Chargers were #1 against the run last year.

Ask Peyton what it is like playing when you are running for your life! They went into Indy's home and pretty much took the Super Bowl away from Indy last year. Chargers were horrible in pass coverage last year. But they improved that this year. Signing veteran safety McCree and 1st round draft pick Antonio Cormartie. This year D is much better.

Sure you keep saying Rivers is a rookie this and that. But, he is not your typical rookie. He has been in the league for 3 yrs now. If coaching staffs are prepare they can win with rookie QB. Look at Ben Roth.

See how good Brees was last night. Rivers is better than him.

I agree, McNair is not ALL that. And if and when they shut down Cincy or Indy will give them the GREAT rating. But until then, i will stick with a good defense.
