I dont know if anyone else has these in their area but im talking about the weekly football pools on the little slips of paper.
Ive been doing some research mathematically and thought Id share it with you guys.
As most of you know the pools are printed out on Sunday night for the following weeks football games. Therefore, the lines on some games can change dramatically (I look for changes of 2.5+ points).
They have a $6 pick 6 teams win them all win $200 ($194 profit) bet.
When you figure it out, it comes to 32.33 to 1. Not bad
Now lets take a game thats on the pool for Sunday:
New Orleans +10 (Line is really +7)
When you buy 3 points on pinnacle you are laying -187.
Now lets say you find 5 other teams to put in this $6 for 6 wager (Theres already 5 so far this week that ive noticed):
Purdue +17 (Real Line +14.5)
Mississippi +20 (Real Line 17.5)
Kansas +23 (Real Line +20.5)
Stanford +27 (Real Line +23.5)
Say you use 5 games that have a 2.5 point difference and use the "buying" line on pinnacle..
You would have a 6 team parlay each of which team is probably -170 . When you plug that into a parlay calculator you get odds of just 15.05 to 1. (That 32.33 to 1 is a HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE OVERLAY Mathematically).
What my goal is, is to find 8 games... put them in all 28 possible different 6 team combinations (Total of $168).
If you go 8 for 8 you win $5432.00
If you go 7 for 8 you win about $4000.00
If you go 6 for 8 you win about $50.00
Definiately worth doing (Even if you are picking just 1 pool for $6 to win $194). I'll post my 8 teams later in the week and see how it goes.
