I dont think we tanked.....we had a rough patch but the ship has been righted IMO and we are ready to roll.....the pitching is tough and thats what wins it in October

i totally agree and congrats....you are correct that anything can happen now.......That being said i do not think this team is playing like they were and sometimes momentum carries through to the end.....And sometimes not.....i.e. Red Sox.....

Anything is possible in the playoffs, but if Yanks don't win it this year with the lineup they have now, they never will.
I agree with Pimp-if Detroit finishes second, they will be in huge trouble because it will indicate they are in a bad slump and that is not the time to be playing Yanks with whom they have struggled this year when they were playing well.
I think Detroit's only hope would be to take on A's and hope Twins can defeat the Yanks, although the momentum and confidence that Minn. would have at that point would not ne in the Tiger's favor either.

Congrats MCP...but they have lost 3 of the last 5, they are 8 - 11 in Sept and 15 - 26 in the last 41....imo, they have not righted the ship just yet but, like you said, October is a new season and anything can happen. GL!
