No but it is sad the team with by far the highest payroll hasn't won in 6 season. Even sadder they've lost their last two WS to inferior teams. Not to mention blowing a 3-love lead and a lead in game 4 to the Sox in 2004. That's why I'm not ready to concede the WS to the Yanks.

Frank, EVERY team they play is inferior- in talent and payroll...they should steam roll everyone this postseason....could be greatest offensive team ever....

Here is a Sox Fan. What do you want to hear? Everyone on this board has said it 100 times. The difference this year were that the Yankees were deeper and were able to overcome their injuries better than the Red Sox were. Red Sox had a bad offseason that caught up to them when they had guys go down and didn't have the reserves to replace those guys. The Yankees can lose players and still replace them with servicable Major Leaguers. The Red Sox lose players and we replace them with the likes of Gabe Kapler, Javy Lopez, and 100 spare pitchers. Plus don't kid yourself even if the Red Sox would have kept it close they never would have been able to overcome the losses of Manny and Papelbon.
