  • Sunday NFL: Be very careful

    NFL YTD 0-2 -2.2 units

    College 6-4 -0.6 units

    Overall Football 6-6 -2.8 units
    2* 0-2 -4.4 units
    1* 6-4 +1.6 units

I had a huge Saturday, going 3-0 (with two pushes) and even going another 3-0 on posted opinions!

I am very wary of today's NFL card as I think it is tempting to overreact to last week's suprisingly good performances (Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago) and the debacles (Green Bay, Oakland, Tampa, Carolina). I prefer to sit out games involving all of those teams. Therefore, just one play today until I get a better feel for things.

    1* Giants +3 (-115)
The Giants must win or their division title and Super Bowl hopes may be shot in the tough NFC East. I think the Giants have better talent than Phila at running back, receiver and on defense. Last week home field advantage was meaningless just as it was all of last year. Take the points with a superior team in a must-win situation.

Good luck, but I think Manning is in for a long day. McNabb is also the better QB and I think the Eagles are slightly better up front which usually wins these close games.

Better up front where? Offensive line? Giants return all 5 starters from last seasons offensive line. The Giants might have the best offensive line in the NFC. They ran the ball at will last week. The Giants ran the ball on Philly last season. Tiki had two 100+ rushing games. Philly's o-line is average at best. McNabb has always taken a beating. I wouldn't confuse Westbrook with Tiki.

Defensive line? Once again, the Giants probably have the best defensive end tandem in the NFL. They're DTs had great games last week vs a very good o-line.

Giants should win this game SU.

                      Gris

I agree that the public always over reacts to the games from the previous week and I am not convinced the trends will continue for the teams you mentioned. Baltimore that good? I don't think so. Tampa and Carolina that bad.. again I don't think so.

                      Good Luck

McNabb is 7-0 vs. Giants. I'll take that kind of beating again today.
