  • Opinion Needed

A Friend of mine and I recently had a discussion as to what percentage of the time a team scores at least one run when it has the bases loaded and no one out.
I said it was somewhere between 80-85%;he said percentage would be a lot more, somewhere well over 90%.
Of course in NL it would be lower because pitchers bat, and obviously with a team like Yanks for example it would be much higher.
What do you guys think overall percentage would be overall?
Perhaps Frank has some stats. on this.

I have no stats whatsoever to prove this, but I believe it to be 87.2%!

I dont know I saw Trevor Hoffman get out of a bases loaded jam with zero out the other night so I thinking like Wayne 75-80%

I am sure some where you could find that stat

It depends who I have in the game. The % seems much lower when I have the team with them loaded

Unfortunately, I don't have these type of stats.

Well then, I consider you quite an astute. What is YOUR opinion on the percentage over say the last 5 seasons or so.
The more I think about it, the more the number 82-83% seems about right.

I agree. My guess is between 80% and 90%

you would obviously think it that high... how hard to score at least one run with 3 cracks at it... but it depends on the situation... i say first 5 innings of a game it would be around 85%, but the last 4 innings especially the last one or two in a close game it could drop to as low as around 72%... these are guesses but it gets a lot harder with the game on the line or the infield not just taking an out or a routine double play...
