Miami FL +4.5
Current Line +3 -120
The Hurricanes need this game badly. They do not want to slip below .500 already. The hard nose defense meets the great offense of Louisville. This is the best defense Louisville will face all year long. The Canes secondary is amazing, and Louisville's WR will have a tough time getting open. RB Tyrone Moss is back three weeks earlier than expected. He carried the ball for 64 yards and a TD on just 8 carries. Can the Left side of the Cardinal line protect Brohm's blindside? Miami's speedy recievers will get open.
FSU -4.5 -120
Current Line -4.5 -120
The Tigers are coming off a crushing loss last week. FSU has lost to Clemson in 2 of the last 3 yrs. FSU can counter Clemson's strength, the run, with its strength, the front seven led by two-time ACC defensive player of the week Buster Davis. FSU defense should blitz a lot and have a nice pass rush to force Clemson's QB into mistakes. BC let QB Proctor stay in the pocket and his numbers showed last week. (25-40 343 yds 2 TD) FSU will win this battle and Bobby Bowden will be victorious.
Bowling Green -6
Current Line -6
BG squeeked one out last week in triple OT to beat Buffalo 48-40. BG QB Anthony Turner completed 16 of 23 for 204 yds and 3 TD with an INT. He ran the ball 23 times for 127 yards and a TD. The special teams will get better after giving up blocked punts for scored two weeks in a row. FIU has to be devastated after losing its second straight game by one point. Special teams are both bad spots for these teams. FIU will need to run the ball and pass the ball better this week if they want a win.
Florida -165
Current Line -165
The Gators find some balance on offense this game. CAL could throw on Tennessee but couldn't run. Air Force could run but not throw. Florida will be able to do both. Leak has been great thus far completing 68% and throwing for 600 yards and 7 TD with 2 INT. He really is throwing better on the run than previous seasons. Florida should have the better Offense and Special teams edge in the game.
UL Monroe +24.5
Current Line +24.5
Bama showed little offense and didn't show the killer D that it is suppose to have in two wins vs mediocore Hawaii and Vanderbilt. UL Monroe isn't going to be able to run the ball all that well, but they do have All-Sun Belt potential in their QB. He threw for 377 yards and three TD vs Kansas. I like ULM to get the cover.
Toledo needs this game badly after losing a heartbreaker to Iowa State and then a complete letdown vs Western Michigan last week. The passing game has been there, and they can put up some points through the air. Kansas has been midiocore beating Northwestern State and UL Monroe. Kansas defense against the run has been good, but Toledo doesn't rely heavily on the run anyway. Toledo instead depends on QB Clint Cochran's arm. For the Toledo offense, senior TE Chris Hopkins is making an early case for the Mackey Award after catching 13 passes for 139 yards and three touchdowns against Iowa State and four catches for 100 yards against Western Michigan. If this game gets into a shootout, I will gladly take Toledo vs a Kansas team that starts a new starting QB.
Big Trend: Under Mark Mangino, Kansas has been awful on the road going just 3-17 with a win over Missouri in 2004, Wyoming in 2003, and Tulsa in 2002.
