I'm on a bit of a slide with my baseball plays, having missed three in a row (all dogs). I like two plays tonight but will use only my strongest as a rated play. The other is listed as an "opinion."
1* A's/Twins OVER 9 1/2 (-115)
Two weak pitchers tonight. Minnesota's Silva was outstanding in his last appearance but that seems like a fluke as his season ERA is 6.31 and he has an 8-13 record with one of the best teams in baseball. Oakland's Blanton is struggling, giving up an ugly 41 hits his last 31 innings and with a 5.01 ERA in his road starts. Oakland's bats are hot, scoring 32 runs in their last four games. The A's have gone over four in a row and eight of the last nine (plus a push). Minnesota has scored 23 its last three games.
Opinion only: Astros (I see this as an even pitching matchup and the Cardinals are simply too awful right now to justify a -155 line.)
