First, I'm sorry about Toronto last night. Halliday usually has low pitch counts but last night he was over 100 and they had to pull him, after just seven innings, and we are dead. Vondie, that's what happened and if it wasen't for the pitch count, you are right, he would have still been pitching. Because I made Toronto a 10 unit play, I lose 6.00 units going 2-2.
I can't remember the last time I saw a day like today, where for almost every game, there are cold teams playing hot teams. Usually, I'll get a cold team playing another cold team and the same thing for hot teams. When that happens I throw out both teams, which is how I keep the number of plays from being too many. In addition to Atlanta, I had 10 other games that were plays. Never, never, has that happened before. After looking for plays that seemed weaker, I was able to throw out three, leaving seven, which is still more than I like.
