  • Soriano 40 / 40

Soriano looks as if he'll get 40 stolen bases along with his 40 homeruns. Who was the last player to do that and when?

the big story is if he gets to 50/50, which I think he will.

man would i love to be his agent this offseason.

A Rod was the last to do it. He was still with Seattle. Not sure of the year.

When he was still with the Yankees, didn't Soriano go into an horrendous HR slump in September and end up with 39 HR's?

I also think 16 steals may be hard to do in one month, unless he just runs every time he gets on base. Not sure the conscience of baseball, Frank Robinson, will like that too much.

in '02 he slumped to just miss it, then came pretty close in '03 too.

I hear what you are saying about the steal thing with getting to 50, but I'm sure as long as the game is close, Robinson will let him run.

not to my recollection---------last one was bonds about 10 years ago.......

When A Rod did it, I think he had about 45-46 SB's, I think the others had 40 or maybe 41.....

A Rod and Canesco did it in the same year, cause I remember towards the end CaNESCO GETTING A sb TO ACCOMPLISH IT.......

There could be more, but I'm not aware of it----kapt

The similarity of those 3 seasons are amazing. Even the runs scored and RBI are within 5. Incredible.
