I'm pretty sure Izzy and LaRussa never crossed paths in Oakland. The Mets traded him to Oakland in '99, I believe and LaRussa was already with St Louis by then.

Izzy is definitely on the decline. I have him in fantasy and he is killing me. He has cost the Cardinals 9 games this year. At the very least, he is making the central race exciting. The guy has lost his stuff it seems. He keeps giving up the long ball which tells me that there is no movment on his pitches and he is hanging them for hitters to hit. Haven't personally witnessed his demise on the tube as that would be too gut wrenching for me. Anyways, there are few other options out there right on the market. They could slide Wainwright in there, who I believe is their best bench option. Kid is solid but he does have his own blowouts occasionally. Plus, he was a starter that was pushed to the bench.

On another note, why did they send Reyes back to the minors? Realize the kid has been up and down but they need to let him play through his issues since he has immense potential given that there are no better options. Weaver is a huge risk. It might pay off but what a gamble to take when you have a potential stud in your farm system. Also, Mulder is another big gamble.

This is going to make for a good central race between the Cardinals and Reds. Color the Astros done and Brewers might make it interesting but not close.

          Peace,
          kj

Larussa should have an eraser installed on the top of his head so he can wipe out all the mistakes he makes

Cards have the sticks, no doubt, but it does you no good if you your reliever can't put away the game...

NICELY PUT KJ, I AGREE Wainwright IS TO ME THE BEST guy in our bullpen right now and a lot of us are scrating our heards as to why larussa sent reyes down, like u i think WEAVER is a big risk i am no fan of his at all there is a reson that the YANKS just let hm go for nothing and Mulder u just never know what guy is going to show up when he pitches, another one of larussa buddys, there is just WAY TO MANY QUESTION MARKS TO ME FOR THE CARDS TO MAKE A SERIUOS RUN,AND WHEN IM AT THE GAMES IT REALLY PISSES ME OFF WHEN MY FELLOW FANS WILL NOT GET ON LARUSSA FOR HIS MISTAKES IM TIRED OF HEARING "WELL WE HAVE TO KEEP OUR BEST BASEFANS THING GOING" FUCK THAT, ITS THE STRECH BABY ITS NOW OR NEVER
SOMETIMES I WISH I LIVED IN NEW YORK OR PHILLY I LOVE HOW THE FANS GET THERE POINT ACROSS LOLO
ONLY TIME WILL TELL BUT ONE THING IS I WILL GO TO LARUSSA HOUSE AND TAKE A SHITT ON HIS FRONT PORCH IF IZZYS BACK NEXT YEAR LMFAO I WILL DO IT TOO
GET-R-DON GLLLLLLLLL PEACE THANK GOD FOOTBALL ALMOST HERE
