I found a pair 2 weekends ago $100 a piece to sit in the grandstand down the right field line.... This was against Baltimore but obviously not the last game.... Sitting on top of the green monster or in the right field bleachers was much more money, but you can see everything from wherever you sit... my advice.. check ebay... or go to another stadium... trust me you wont be missing much

The whole point is that I was sarcastically saying that probably NO Red Sox fan has ANY interest in seeing a MEANINGLESS game on the last day of the season.
Since I live about 90 miles from Boston, at this point if the scalper gave me the ticket for NOTHING with the stipulation I couldn't sell it, I wouldn't waste my time and go.

I will take solace in the fact in knowing that if the Sox sink further in the standings during this roadtrip, that at least some of the folks who are charging outrageous amounts of money for remaining home game tickets, in the hundreds if not thousands of dollars, are going to get clobbered.(I sure hope so anyways, as I regard anyone selling a Sox ticket for prices like that as mercenary scum).

Yeah I will pitch a tent alright, and then in the moring tell anyone selling them at that price to go fu k themselves, that I will gladly take them off their hands for nothing, wipe my ass with them and then leave them at the entrance gate for anyone who wishes to see the game for nothing.

What bothers me at this point is that the present ownership knows they can live off the reputation and excitement of having won a WS.
Thus, the most important thing now is the profit motive and to create the illusion that this team can compete at the highest level.
I hope that in addition to scalpers taking a hit, that people can see that the nothings like Seanez, Tavarez, Johnson, Snyder, etc. are not going to get the team to the promised land, and that most of the young pitchers are no better or worse than those of other teams.
I really don't care for Steinbrenner, but I think this series really unmasked the Sox-Varitek or no Varitek-and that fans can see that something is wrong in the present makeup of this team, and most importantly that Sox will have to spend a little more to compete with the likes of Georgie and the Yankees.
On the other hand, as long as Fenway is sold out and the revenues are flowing in at record rates for the next year or two no matter how the Sox do, the owners can breathe a sigh of relief;with a little bit of luck they might even be able to unload Manny this year and replace him with another "super" prospect or player like Coco Crisp.
ps Somehow even though the analogy isn't perfect, players like Seanez, Tavarez, Johnson, Snyder, etc. remind me of Dollar Stores, which peddle a lot of junk at bargain prices that no one else would pay for at regular prices.
