  • Spears Nice to Stay in Touch 10* Total

Hi folks- been on a roll lately- I mean traveling wise. I play little these days and wait for those rare plays from myself or a hot capper to pursue- seems to be the answer for me to win consistently.
Am gearing up for football. Love the totals- Liking the under in the first half of Jaguar and Chicago games when the season begins.

Chicago White Sox/ Detroit Under 9

Contreras appears to have the Tigers bats quieted when he pitches against them and Verlander has been money.
Not many of these games between these two teams goes above the number- just can't see this any different. Good Luck all!

Thanx Dimer- Nice to be seen!

The Chicago White Sox have been one of few teams to figure out rookie Justin Verlander.

Verlander will look to end both team and personal three-game losing streaks against the White Sox on Monday, when the Detroit Tigers host the opener of a key four-game series.

The 23-year-old Verlander (14-6, 3.14 ERA) has gone 0-3 with a 9.88 ERA in three starts against Chicago in 2006, allowing 27 hits in 13 2/3 innings. He has posted a 2.44 ERA with 111 hits allowed in 132 2/3 frames against the rest of the major leagues.

The last time he faced the White Sox on August 11, Verlander surrendered five runs and a season-high 13 hits in a 5-0 loss. That came amid a three-game sweep by Chicago, which closed the gap between the top two teams in the American League Central Division to 5 1/2 games.

The White Sox, who remain 5 1/2 games off the pace but lead the AL wild-card chase by one game over Minnesota, have won nine of 12 meetings with the Tigers this season and are 23-8 against them since the beginning of 2005. Chicago will seek more success vs. Detroit behind Jose Contreras (11-5, 3.78), who has gone 3-1 with a 1.45 ERA in four starts against the Tigers this year.

Opposed by Verlander on August 11, Contreras pitched a three-hitter for his first major league shutout. However, Contreras has posted an 8.78 ERA in losing his other two starts this month, falling to 2-5 on the heels of a franchise-record 17-game winning streak. He allowed a season-high seven runs and 12 hits in a 10-4 setback to the Royals on Wednesday.

Tigers shortstop Carlos Guillen is a .342 hitter in 69 lifetime games against the White Sox. Guillen's 40 career RBI vs. Chicago are his most against any team.
