At first I didn't have much feel for this game but the latest reports help to suggest the following:
Philly -3.5
Philly/Cleveland Under 33
Now I did not say that is the bet- no it goes further.
Philly has shown a paltry amount of yards in the first game but Reid will extend Mcnabb's playing time on the field tonight and go up by 14 points before Cleveland knows what hit them. Cleveland is without its main center and has some boys filling in. Timing will be the main problem of the Browns tonight. A center is a conductor in many ways.
Take Philly -2 First Half
The Under looks okay but Vegas has chopped it to low already and believe me the defenses may just be the over in this game. Interceptions and special teams may even rule tonight.
Philadelphia's first-string appeared only briefly against the Raiders, playing well before yielding to backups. Quarterback Donovan McNabb, in his first live action since injuries derailed him midway through the 2005 campaign, was a perfect 3-for-3 passing for 29 yards. Running back Brian Westbrook also posted a strong effort, rushing six times for 32 yards, catching a 14-yard pass out of the backfield, and scoring the team's only touchdown on a 1-yard run in the first quarter. The starting unit is again not expected to be featured beyond the first quarter of play, and Westbrook, who is nursing a sprained foot, will be held out altogether. Other Eagles not likely to be in uniform include wideouts Reggie Brown (calf) and Todd Pinkston (Achilles). Among the probable reserves, fans will be eager to witness the exploits of defensive tackle and Brodrick Bunkley (Florida State), who ended a contract holdout last week and may see some action on Thursday night.
Among the major objectives for the Cleveland Browns in their preseason opener will be remaining healthy. The Browns have already lost starting center and highly-regarded free agent pickup LeCharles Bentley for the season to a torn patellar tendon in his left knee suffered on the first drill of training camp July 27th. Bentley's would-be backup, Bob Hallen, is reportedly contemplating retirement after suffering back spasms this past week. Now competing for starting center duties will be former Eagle Alonzo Ephraim, who was out of football until this past week, and Ross Tucker, who was acquired from the Patriots via trade on Tuesday. Whoever starts at center against the Eagles will initially snap to starting QB Charlie Frye, who has battled a thumb injury during camp but is expected to be in the lineup. Wideout and 2005 first-round draft choice Braylon Edwards, who is recovering from ACL surgery, is not expected to be in uniform on Thursday, though tight end Kellen Winslow, who has missed most of the past two seasons due to injury, should be in action.
