  • Florida/Georgia - October 28

A few buddies an I pick one game a year to make a trip to (Texas/Ohio St in 05, Mich/ND in 04, Auburn/LSU in 03, etc...) We have picked this game this year. We are going to spend all day and night Thursday in Gainesville to take in the campus life and head to Jacksonville Friday in the afternoon.

Anyone want to give some ideas as to where to go in both towns. We are staying near campus in Gainesville and within a mile of the stadium in Jacksonville.

Nice pick! Gainesville is a bit removed for me- 15 years. Jacksonville has some dynamic places to go to- best to pick up a folio or band scene magazine for what is happening during the week of the game- San Marco Square (Bar/Lounge/Thai Food) will have some of the players in attendance. Bonefish grill is popular (Beach and Mandarin), Ruth Chris Steak house- just across the water-(take water taxi across and then to the Landing for festivities, Tinseltown for aroms and other cool spots, beaches have Ragtime and few key bars around it- plus the beach is a block away. Hailed as the largest cocktail tailgate party- just mosy down to the happenings around the stadium. Enjoy The City and the game- If I can find decent tickets- I'll be there as well. Hope its a close game- Go Gators! My bros are Ga and FSU- Quite a civil war.

I was in Gainsville last year. A beautiful small town. There's not a shortage of places to go.

Jacksonville Landing will be hopping that weekend! It is right on the water with a big Hooters and a ton of other shops/restaurants/bars. If you can get a hotel within walking distance to that, you will be able to stumble safely with thousands of like-minded drunks!
