All are pitching well, and I don't feel any of these pitchers are getting the respect they deserve here.
Felix Hernandez vs. Baltimore - His 4.61 ERA and 5.18 ERA are both deceiving, as he suffered a bit of a sophomore slump at the beginning of the season. Recently, he's been very good, with a 3.26 ERA last five starts, and his last three road starts have all been quality outings as well. The guy was untouchable last year, and he's approaching that again.
Eric Bedard vs. Seattle - Since adding a changeup, Bedard has been the best pitcher in the league. He had won 7 straight starts, and was in line for #8 before the pen blew it. In his last 50 innings, Bedard has given up only 6 earned runs (an ERA of slightly over 1) and 31 hits.
He is 7-1 with a 2.76 ERA at home, and it's even better than that recently. Oh, did I mention the Mariners are last in runs scored against LHP?
Jeremy Sowers vs. Boston - Sowers is facing a tough lineup here, but it is one that is significantly better against RHP and will be missing Varitek again. Anyway, Sowers has pitched consecutive complete game shutouts, and while it would be foolish to expect that again at Fenway, he should have at least a quality outing.
John Lester vs. Cleveland - The Indians also struggle with lefties a bit, and they face a good one in Lester, who is coming off consecutive poor outings. Before that, though he had been very good, and Fenway has been good to him, as he carries a 3.16 home ERA into this one.
Mariners (Hernandez) @ Orioles (Bedard) Under 9 (-106)
Cleveland (Sowers) vs. Boston (Lester) Under 10 (+108)
