  • Crew chiefs Tommy Baldwin and Slugger Labbe released from RYR

Robert Yates Racing announced Monday that Nextel Cup crew chiefs Tommy Baldwin and Richard "Slugger" Labbe have been released, according to a report on SceneDaily.com.

Baldwin was Elliott Sadler's crew chief and Labbe was Dale Jarrett's crew chief. With both drivers already released for the 2007 season, Robert Yates Racing starts over with a "clean sheet of paper," says NASCAR on FOX analyst Larry McReynolds.

Veteran crew chief Butch Hylton will assume crew chief duties for the No. 88 UPS Racing Team in an interim capacity beginning with this weekend's All State 400 at the Brickyard. Hylton has been with Robert Yates Racing since the end of June and served as crew chief for development driver Stephen Leicht at Pocono Raceway two weeks ago.

SceneDaily.com reports that Charles "Cully" Barraclough will replace Baldwin, who had an opportunity to be a team manager with another organization. SceneDaily.com reports that team likely will be Bill Davis Racing, where Baldwin was a crew chief from 1998 to 2002.
