real pretenders with 2 months to go
as we go along into the last 2 months of the baseball season, i've realized that some major teams may have major pitching problems. lets look at some of these teams.
1. detroit: kenny rogers, outside of a great game at home nearly 2 weeks ago vs chisox he has been anything but spectacular of late.
2. yankees: randy johnson, has had a terrible season, even tho he barely has a winning record. now he has a bad back again. does retirement loom.
3. boston: curt shilling, even tho he has had a good won lost record, the angels torched him this evening. is he also losing something.
4. chisox: buhrle, vasquez, garcia, all winning records, but what about those era's. if the sox don't score they don't win.
garlands era is still high, but has pitched very well last few starts.
maybe these teams are good, at least the tigers have some really good young arms, bonderman, verlander, zumaya, miner, robertson, are all young. can they hold on thru a long playoff and possible world series season. (i hope so) the only team other than these major players are the twins, and i keep looking at santana & liriano. the other starters aren't that impressive. i think radke may be as over rated as any pitcher in the history of baseball. hes around 4 or 5 games over .500 for his career, but hes 11 games over vs the tigers. 6 of 12 seasons have been under .500. so lets see who can get the best pitching down the stretch and good luck to all teams contending.

by the way, do the yanks bosox or red sox even have a bullpen. maybe lidle can give the yanks innings, but who comes in after his 6 innings?
