  • Wagering On Sundays (mlb)

Here's Something I Like To Do For Sundays Only Since It's Always An Odd Day For Mlb Wagering Due To Series Finales, Injuries, Or Starters Resting, Etc.

I've Been Tracking The W/l's Each Week
I Think You Guys Might Be Surprised By The Results. It's Definitely Changed My Way Of Thinking As Far As Wagering On Sundays.

I'd Love To Track The Units Per Team W/l On Sundays, But It Would Cut Into Some Serious Beer Drinking Time.

    Hope This Helps.

    Best Of Luck Everyone

Thanks, dj. Good information. I was thinking about the Nats today. You might have swayed me over the line with that 12-4 Sunday stat.

Looks Like It Might Be A Close One.
The +1.5 Is A Little High To Play Which Would Be A Nice Way To Go, But At -170 That's A Heavy Play And Not A Good Way To Go For Money Management Purposes.

At +120 For A Su Win, Trends Would Support It And Gives You Some Value.

I Have It Dead Even In A Quick Cap System For The Starters .
      Same Goes For The Bullpens.

Keep Your Wager Light On This One. No Need To Drop The Throttle On The Last Day Of The Wagering Week On A Game With A Minimal Edge For Either Side.

Fyi...i Don't Keep Track Of Streaks For Sundays, But Washington Did Lose Last Sunday.

Best Of Luck To You Garth

Thats interesting info----however: wash at 12-4, and Dodgers at 8-9, but one must consider not the day they played, but who they played........It could easily be that Wash met the weaker teams on Sundays, and were home.......Could mean Dodgers had Stronger teams, and were visitors.........

Before I'd put any credence in this, I'd like to know how many were home, vs away, and who did they play.......

It's conceivably possible that the Dodgers met the Natls on 3 or 4 Sundays thus far, and could have won all 4, but thats not shown in their 8-9 record on Sundays.......

I thank you for the info, but I'd need a lil more info to have any interest in trying it......

Once again thanks for the hard work, keep em coming, cause others may utilize it......

Looking at just the ones with big differentials.......the "Sunday" plays would be

          Phillies (Both Games)---at home
          Houston (at home)
          Cards (on road)
          Washington (on road)
          C W Sox (on road)
          A's (at hoem)
          Texas (at home)

lets see what they look like tomorrow..........Just straight out plays would be.......

          Braves
          Giants
          Phillies X2
          Houston
          Reds/Brewers EVEN
          Cards
          Padres
          Washington
          Seattle/Clev EVEN
          C W Sox
          Tampa Bay/Yanks EVEN---go figure here.....
          Boston
          Detroit
          Oakland
          Texas........

gl to ya, and thanks for sharing with us....Just my opinion on this.........kapt

Hey Kapt. It's Definitely Not A Sytem Play.
I Hope It Didn't Come Across Like That.

It's Just To Keep Tabs On What Happens On Sunday Since Alot Of Teams Rest Players Or We Find Ourseves In A Game 3 Of A Series.

So Maybe If Toronto Was Favored And Played Washington Or Philly, You Would See The Differential And Might Back Down Or Lean To The Dog....just An Example

Where Most People Cap The Games To Play, I Use The Trends And Info Like This To Find The Games Not To Play. It Helps W/ Budgeting And The Temptation To Play Too Many.

It's Nothing More Than A Check On What Happens.

Now Don't Forget That Baseball Is A Superstitious Sport And They Have Their Habits And Training Routines And Rest Days On The Same Days. So That Might Be A Factor To Add Any Support.

Other Than That, Unless Somebody Tracked The Units W Or L On Sundays By Each Team, Then It Wouldn't Be A Source To Play As A Handicapping Tool.
Just Like Wagering, A Winning Record Doesn't Mean A Thing If They Are Down Units Or In The Negative.

My Only Thing Is To See Which Teams Consistently Perorm A Certain Way On Sundays.

So, My Focus Would Be On The Extreme Top Of The List And The Extreme Bottom.

Thanks Kapt For At Least Noticing The Thread.

                As of 2:35 Central:
Teams in action from dj's list:

                1. Better than .500: Of the 13 teams from this part of this list that are in action, 6 are winning, 3 are losing and 1 is tied. 2 of the 3 that are losing are playing teams from higher in this part of the list.

2..500: Of the 3 teams from this part of the list that are in action, 2 are losing and 1 is tied late.

                3. Worse than .500: Of the 9 teams from this part of the list that are in action, 2 are winning, 4 are losing and 3 are under delays but tied late.

Very interesting, dj! The later the day gets, the more interesting this becomes! Thanks!

                  MY MAN---
#1....I didn't interpret it as one.........Just thought that if it was more definite, as to who plays who, you might be on to something........Every Sunday you may find 1-5 good games to play......

                  #2....great point

                  #3....good example

#4....Might be a great tool to find teams to not play---agreed

                  #5....Good

#6....Very true statement......Superstition is rampant in MLB....Rest days ia also important factor......If they do em on Sundays.........all the time....which they don't...

#7....would definitely have to be intricately tracked to be beneficial as a wagering method (system)...

#8....Great Idea.........find the extremely strong ones, the extremely weak ones, and could be a factor when they meet on Sundays.......That again depends on who's pitching, vs who's sitting out.....

                  #9....see #8.......that is a good idea.......

#10...I noticed your thread, as I notice and read em all....I replied because I found some possibilities in this idea, but just wanted to add, that it needs more definitive tracking to be really helpful......What I'm saying is a team that is 8-9 on Sundays, may have, by the luck of the draw, faced 8 teams #1 pitcher, or when they were sitting out players............

I do like the Extreme opposites Idea.........such as Philadelphia playing Pittsburgh........Big difference there.....

Hope I didn't upset you, but I just tried to expound on your Idea........I am not a "Trend" player at all........But lot's of cappers are........Keep an eye on it, you could have found something..........

Again, I reiterate, didn't want to rile you, just stating an unsolicited opinion...........Best to ya.....I hope it works for you....kapt

Teams with significant differentials went 4-4.........

All games with differnetials went 4-8.....

Team with best record on Sundays (Phiilies) went 2-0.......now 15-3

Top 7 teams that were doing the best on Sundays went 2-6, with both wins coming freom Phillies in a double heder....

See ya next Sunday, and we'el track again....kapt

Thanks Kapt. That Saved Me Alot Of Time.

Btw...you Didn't Rile Me Up There. It Was A Good Discussion For Trying Something Different And I Most Appreciate Your Opinions And Offering Your Help.

That's What Forums Are All About.

The Biggest Thing That I'm Getting Out Of This Is Look For Philly To Wager On Sundays And Go Against Toronto On Sundays. I Don't Have The Exact Number, But Philly Would Move Into The Top Spot For Moneyline Winners Due To A 2-0 Sunday.

Since Toronto Is A Fave More Often Than Pitt, ( A High Ml Fave At That) I Would Think They Move Down To The Bottom Unit Wise For Ml Losers On Sundays (only). Just A Wierd Thing As I've Seen Halladay And Burnett Lose On Sundays

Thanks Again For Helping Out With This
If We Can Just Get The Insight On One Or Two Teams From Posting This Stuff Up, I'd Be Very Happy With That.

Hope You Guys Had A Great Weekend. Lets Get That Cha-ching On Monday
