Several weeks ago, I bet $100 to win $3000 on the Giants to win the NL, figuring they were the best team in the West and I could at least hedge if they made the playoffs. Last Saturday, they won their 3rd straight game over the Padres and took over first place and I felt great. They then proceeded to lose 8 in a row, including 7 straight to last place teams. I am stunned. I'm throwing in the towel on this one.

9 in a row. 8 straight losses to teams who are in last place (Nats and Pirates). 1-9 with Shea Hillenbrand.

The sad thing is they'd just gone 5-4 over these 9 games (which considering their opponents they absolutely should have) they'd be in first place in the NL West. If a team based in a major East coast city was going through a run like this they'd be on the front page of ESPN.com. This is the most inexcusable run any time I've taken a future bet on has ever gone on.

its too bad should try and get to 3000 hits, get the lifetime avg past .300, 2000 rbi's and 2500 walks all would've been historic numbers but he's old and probly done.

                1-10 L 11 games
                1-4 L 5 home games
Bonds ejected tonight, fans throw trash on the field.

                Last place.

Unebelievable considering that 2 Saturdays ago they were first in the NL West.

Bonds has nothing left to prove..His stats speak volumes, the only thing that he wants more than ever is a World Series ring, but that is looking more and more doubtful as the days pass on.

I love how baseball fans write off a team, with so much time left on the schedule...The NL West is a tossup

I wish I had your confidence breeze.

Since taking first place 2 weeks ago, the Giants are 1-11, 1-5 at home, have blown 3 saves, and are 0-3 in extra innings. They are now in last place and further back from the rest of the division than at any point in the season. They went from alone in first place to 2.5 games behind the 2nd to last place team in a 2 week span. I've never seen a baseball team take first place one day, and then lose 11 of 12 games.
