odds dont support it-he is the best-I have played with him-you have to be extremely lucky to get there this year

a guy i play poker with here locally won a local event here to qualify for the $2000 NL hold'em about 10days ago in WSOP. 4,000 entries and he finished in top 500. made it to the 2nd day of the 2 day event, he said it was nuts. 1/2 the field in the event he was in didnt even know anything about poker. they were rich guys/gals that just wanted to do the "in thing"
he said the problem wasnt that the competition was impossible, it was that so often people that have no business being in a hand call cause they dont care and catch a card that can bury if not eliminate you. Thats why its so damn difficult.

this is where patience becomes KING......you have to honestly wait for premium hands such as AA or KK.....QQ becomes risky in a multiway against these nutjobs or small pairs in unraised pots and hope to hit a set and then make huge moves.

if you honestly try to make normal plays like raising with AK or AQ or mid pairs you will get sucked into unwanted action against mediocre players with no clue if they are trying to make moves or just playing dumb.

its tough to just sit there waitin for AA or KK but sometimes you just have to take walks for an hour or so and let these people knock each other off before you actually even try to play

its crazy but the patient survuve in these huge trnmts

true but the only problems with that is that the blinds move quickly. Not to mention if you only play best hands AA,Ak,kk,qq and someone calls your raise and rags come out IE 2,8,6 and they have 8,8 or 6,6 or 2,2 in their hand your basically dead

thats a better way to lose than to have AJ with a flop of A95 rainbow only to lose to a 95 who was out of position to begin with. that will leave talkin to yourself for days.

people like callin off their shit on miracle draws or any draw for that matter and even though they fail most of the time people justify callin cuz they hit every once in a while (never taking into account if odds justify a call to begin with)

these types of trnmts do not even support makin logical plays and thats why most of these pros do not last because thet get sucked in.

i am 2 tired to even type right now.....i need some sleep
